Which Denver-metro residences are licensed for memory care?

Colorado has no separate memory-care license: memory care is provided by an Assisted Living Residence that runs a secure environment. CDPHE's public data doesn't flag which of the metro's 421 ALRs do, so this page lists the 14 whose CDPHE-registered name identifies memory care and explains how to confirm any other residence.

Many large communities run a memory-care neighborhood under their main ALR license without saying so in the registered name; you will find those in the full assisted living list. Ask each one for its written secure-environment disclosure.

How do I confirm a Colorado residence has a secure memory-care environment?

Ask the residence for the written disclosure that Chapter 7, Part 25 of CDPHE's assisted living rules requires for a secure environment, and check its inspection record for citations under that part. The disclosure should describe the locked or alarmed area, staffing levels, dementia training and move-in and move-out criteria.

Read the rule: 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 7, Part 25 (Secure Environment).

Assisted living vs. memory care in Colorado: what is and isn't the same?

In Colorado both are licensed by CDPHE as an Assisted Living Residence; memory care is an ALR (or a section of one) that also operates a secure environment for residents with dementia.

Data source + refresh cadence

Every listing comes from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division: its public health facilities registry (Facility ID, licensed beds, phone, status) and its Find and Compare Facilities tool (inspections, citations, occurrence reports). CDPHE last updated the registry on September 29, 2026; we pulled it on October 24, 2026 and refresh it quarterly.

Only facilities CDPHE lists as Active are shown; pending applications are excluded. Memory-care listings are limited to residences whose CDPHE-registered name says memory care. Last updated: October 24, 2026.
